Buenos Aires closed the long weekend with a record-breaking tourist rate, exceeding 94% hotel occupancy. This achievement was largely driven by the hosting of a unique international event: Devconnect Buenos Aires.
According to the Argentine News Agency, Devconnect is the world's most important crypto festival, organized by the Ethereum Foundation. For the first time in Argentina, the event brought together more than 8,000 programmers, entrepreneurs, and specialists from 130 countries, selling 16,000 tickets for the tech festival.
Official: Javier Milei signed a decree for a long weekend in December following the success of the November bridge holiday.
The event, with its epicenter at La Rural, had an estimated economic impact of over US$ 50 million and was structured across eight thematic districts focused on artificial intelligence, gaming, tokenization, and financial regulation.
The arrival of such summits is integrated into the city's BA Crypto strategy, which aims to position the Federal Capital as one of the most relevant tech hubs in the region, complementing the traditional cultural agenda, which also included La Noche de las Librerías and Futcon this weekend.
